Sofía Suárez Somohano (Chiapas, 1990) is a visual artist with a background in Communication from Anáhuac University Mexico North and Complutense University of Madrid. She is a member of the International Association of Visual Arts (IAVA) and has participated in the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana. She has held solo exhibitions in venues such as the Santa María la Ribera Cultural Center, the American Space Benjamin Franklin Library at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has participated in group exhibitions such as those at Casa de Cultura San Rafael and Expone México. Internationally, she has exhibited at the Annual Art Festival in Stuart, Florida; Agora Gallery in New York; Première Vision in Paris—where she was the first Mexican artist to present textile art at this venue—and at IFCO in Turkey. In parallel, she has developed her project, Sofía Suárez Artindumentary, founded in 2016, with a physical store and gallery at Casa Fusión (Mexico City). Her work fuses painting, literature, and textiles to create unique pieces—derived from her original works.
